  1. Your lesson on the process of lawmaking was great! The Schoolhouse Rock video was a good way to get the class interested in the lesson and your follow up questions helped us recall what we watched. The powerpoint was also effective and I liked how you left the group diagram activity open ended. You simply said, “draw a diagram,” instead of what kind of diagram you were looking for. That lets students work through the task on their own, and sometimes less guidance can be better. The only thing I think you could have improved was the individual practice worksheet. I found that to be confusing and I think just a brief paragraph of instructions at the top of the sheet would have helped. All in all good job!

  2. Good job on the lesson! I really enjoyed the opening video to get the class in the mood and also thinking about the journey that a bill takes to become a law. I had no idea there were so many steps until your lesson! Your presentation was very to the point and informative. I did think that you went through it pretty fast, but considering the time restriction, it makes sense for the speediness. If you were to ever do this lesson again, I would suggest making sure the students write the steps down or going over them slower because when it came time to draw the diagram, I couldn't remember all the smaller steps that went into it. I agree with Shane about the individual worksheet, I found it to be confusing and didn't really understand at first what I was supposed to be writing in each box.
    Overall, good job!
